Web Browsing on a Netbook

By

The low vertical resolution on most netbooks can make it difficult to use many applications. Your web browser is one of them.

Just the standard File Menu Bar, URL bar, Favorites and Tabs can take up the majority of your netbooks screen. This leaves only a tiny area for your web page to be displayed in. If you install any add-ons to your browser you will have even less space.

It's pretty hard to surf the web when your browser won't show you a web site.

The Solution

Press F-11 to display the solution.

Full Screen-Mode

What just happened? In most web browses, pressing F-11 toggles Full Screen mode. To exit Full Screen mode just press F11 again.

Using the full screen mode can take some getting used to. But it will regain all of that desktop real estate that you are loosing to the varios tool bars in your web browser.

Alternativly, you can turn off individual toolbars if you really don't like using full screen mode.

Want More Space?

Get every last inch out of your small netbook screen by enabling auto-hide on your windows Taskbar.

  1. Right-Click on the windows taskbar.
  2. Select Properties.
  3. Check "Auto-Hide the Taskbar".
  4. Press OK.
